Letter From Coach Humphries

I would like to thank each and every one of you for a great fall and spring season. It is hard to believe that just a year ago we were trying to get off the ground and establish more than 4 players each practice. Andy and I have had a blast coaching and learning with all of you.
As you may or may not have heard my wife and I are expecting a baby any day now. With this coming up I will be forced to step down as head coach and let Andy take the helm. I will hopefully be back for the start or middle of the Spring Season. I will be working on the upcoming summer and fall schedule as well as budget items that Andy needs help with. I have listed below some things that I would like each of you to start thinking about.
For all underclassmen planning to play next year I need each one of you to try and participate in either the summer or Fall Seasons or both. Though it is not required that everyone play in these seasons, I recommend it to increase your knowledge and skill. All underclassmen will have big shoes to fill and I know that each and everyone of you will do a good job. Please keep in mind to ask new guys to come out and play. Recruitment is essential to our survival.
Seniors, I wish each and every one of you the best of luck in your future endeavors. I know that most of you are on your way to college while others are waiting. I would like to encourage each and every one of you to pursue rugby in your future. Weather it is for a college, Men’s or in some cases National Side. With this sport you will always have friends and family. Please keep up the good work.
Parents, I have to say without you guy’s none of this past season would not be possible. I feel like that there is a lot of improvement with my coordination with you guys and myself when it comes to game time set-up. In this area I will strive to improve my coordination and preparedness towards each and every away and home game. Thanks for all your support and see you next season.
I am setting up a date for the Spring/Summer Awards Banquet. This will be held either late May or early June. More to come on this….
